Announcing LRG’s Junior Roller Derby League

unnamedWe are delighted to announce the next London Roller Girls (LRG) Generation with the arrival of London Roller Girls Junior League – Mama Bash School of Hard Knocks.

We welcome people, who identify as female, intersex, and/or gender expansive, age 12-17 inclusive, of all shapes and sizes, to come out and join in this grass-roots derby revival!

Roller Derby promotes a positive body image and builds and develops strong self-confidence.

cjrg2Roller derby has a well-deserved reputation for being a tight, support community that empowers its members – For so many young people, mainstream sports don’t appeal and inactivity becomes an unhealthy lifelong habit.

We feel the supportive, diverse and fun community is part of why roller derby has such a good record of involving people who would otherwise never enjoy being active.

Skaters will learn the basic rules of Roller Derby, As well as activities outside the roller rink that will help to develop those “derby muscles” needed to perform on the track! If you don’t know how to skate, worry not, we will teach you.

Our coaches are qualified London Roller Girls, active and retired skaters, DBS checked, who will bring their first-hand experience into building a unique experience to all participants.

As well as on-skates derby skills, junior skaters will see and be able to learn the self-sufficiency, initiative taking that we bring to our self-organised league – this lead-taking approach is an amazing advantage to skaters on and off track.
